Brian Mace - Glass Artist

My Story

I was raised in Central Kansas and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1985. In the

spring of 1987, I relocated to the Dallas/Ft Worth area with only what could fit in a Toyota pickup

truck. Following a few jobs and approximately three years at Junior College, I found myself

employed in the entertainment industry focusing on stage lighting. This opportunity fulfilled a

significant dream for me and went a long way to satisfying my vagabond heart, yet I felt another

calling that eluded me for several years.

Throughout my life, I have been influenced by and drawn to various art mediums including

pottery, silver smithing, sculpture, computer graphics, music, and lighting. Additionally, I have

held a long-standing fascination with glass as an art medium.

In 2012, I discovered SiNaCa Studios in Ft Worth, Texas, and was immediately captivated.

Shortly thereafter, I began taking private lessons and quickly realized that glass art would

become an integral part of my life.

Given my extensive background in an array of lighting aplications, it was inevitable that the

interplay between glass and light would capture my imagination and manifest in my work. While

glass art is inherently beautiful, the integration of light elevates it to new heights.

Currently, I specialize in creating lamps, various pendant lights, and Light Boxes. My portfolio

also includes a growing collection of awards and trophies. My techniques incorporate both

blown and kiln-formed glass, complemented by sandblasting for surface decoration.

Although I am unsure of where this journey will ultimately lead, I am eager to continue exploring

and enjoying the process.
